The Nurk Twins
Joe Refano heard Mike Ponella at a mutual friend's birthday party. "I knew immediately that given the chance to play with this guy, I would do whatever I could to make it happen".
Mike and Joe had an awful lot to talk about. Two versatile musicians...two BEATLE FREAKS...two John Lennon devotees. Joe Refano says "It's been a budding friendship. When we're not doing The Liverpool Shuffle, we are a duet called The Nurk Twins doing a wide variety of material. Beatle fans get THE NURK TWINS joke and those not familiar with the name just tend to think we're nuts!"
"We do a little bit of everything and we try to do things you wouldn't ordinarily hear LIVE" so says Ponella. "We do everything from from the Eagles to Al Stewart; from Eric Clapton to the Moody Blues...and we do an entire set of Beatle music as well."

Beginning Thursday April 8th, we'll be at LOLA in Great Neck every Thursday 830-11pm until
April 29th. The food is awesome...the interior is beautiful and the atmosphere is cool..very cool! We'll be playing a really eclectic mix of rock, blues, folk and pop with the emphasis on the classic music we all know and love. Help us create a scene ! ;-O
