Just when we thought things couldn't any worse for Long Island, we are being hit with a nasty nor'easter dumping heavy wet snow onto an already fragile infrastructure. Wow! This is really a test of stamina and will! Power still out in Centerport...running a generator...everyone hang in there...this too shall pass!

After two rainouts, the Chamber of Commerce in Northport has decided to cancel the show in the Gazebo for this summer. Hopefully we'll get to do it again next year.

It's 730 and the show has been called off due to the rain.

Now it's 6pm...the sky is cloudy and their is some drizzle. They say the storm will be out of here by 7-730 so the Chamber wants to give it a try. We are going to start a little later...around 830..
so we're heading down to the Gazebo to see what's up. We may get this in yet!

It's 3pm and the weather up here in Centerport looks pretty good...sunny and mild...hopefully we can get tonite's show in before the rains come. Should the weather change or we hear from the Northport Chamber of Commerce, it looks like we're going to at least try to get the show started.

RIP Mark Farquar Vaccacio...long time vocalist and guitarist extraordinaire of the
well known Beatle Tribute Band "Strawberry Fields", after an 18 month battle with colon cancer.
Our condolences to Mark's family and friends, the surviving members of Strawberry Fields and to Beatle fans everywhere. He will be missed.

The somewhat "wounded" Liverpool Shuffle limped into the Douglaston Manor Saturday night.
Mike P was recovering from surgery..and everyone else was nursing battered bodies...
but as soon as the music started all the aches and pains were forgotten! ;-) Mike P wants to say THANK YOU again to everyone who sent emails, Facebook messages and old school get well cards thru the US Mail. It was awesome ! Thanks again!

Beatles remastered stereo box wins Grammy

At the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, The Beatles acclaimed stereo box set won the Grammy for Best Historical Album. Paul McCartney also won the 2011 Grammy for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance. Klaus Voormann's A Sideman's Journey was nominated but due to a fall was unable to make the trip to Los Angeles.

The Beatles' Love and the accompanying video documentary All Together Now are being issued digitally as iTunes exclusives. Both titles will be priced at $12.99 at the iTunes Store.
Individual tracks from Love will also be sold individually, the rest of the Beatles catalog is currently on sale at the Apple retail unit at $1.29 per track.

Ringo Starr has filed for a trademark for the name "Ringo" to apply to video game software and downloadable computer games. Ringo registered the name next to the "computer game software" and "downloadable computer games via the internet and wireless devices" categories in his application, reports uk.gamespot.com.

So long holiday season 2010. Just took down the holiday video and photos but you can still see them by going to YouTube and searching The Liverpool Shuffle Christmas Video 2010. A few folks asked about last year's video. It's there as well. About 20 inches just fell on the Huntington area.

The Millennium Singles event at Verdi's in Westbury turned out to be a blast! The bad weather never materialized and over 300 people showed up for the show! The Liverpool Shuffle rocked the place as did DJ Donny...and the JETS beat the Colts in the NFL Playoff game. A most splendid time was had by all! ;-)

Paul McCartney began recording Penny Lane 54 years ago!
Recording for the Beatles' Penny Lane began on December 29, 1966. Recording took place during the sessions that would eventually produce the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Penny Lane would eventually be released the following February as a double A-sided single with John Lennon's Strawberry Fields Forever.
